Author Guidelines

Article format

Articles on subject didactics and subject-related sciences, on school and university practice, and on school and university development can be submitted online after registration as empirical, theoretical or methodological articles, as case studies or as a comparison of literature. They undergo an external and mutually anonymised review (double blind peer review).

The following guidelines apply to all submissions:

  • Papers are written as scientific articles that follow the formal structure (abstract, research question, methodology, ...) as well as the citation style of the guidelines for manuscript design of the German Psychological Society. English-language articles are to be submitted in APA7 format.
  • Manuscripts are accepted in German and English (British spelling is preferred; however, consistency of spelling must be ensured).
  • Manuscripts have a length of about 30,000 characters (including spaces; excluding bibliography).
  • Manuscripts are submitted in Word format (docx or doc format) and use a common font (Times, Arial; font size 11pt) with 1.5 line spacing and no hyphenation or elaborate formatting.
  • Papers are submitted anonymously. The data concerning the authors (name, affiliation, contact details of the corresponding author) are recorded in the online journal's input mask.
  • All figures used must be of suitable quality and suitable for printing in greyscale. They must be provided as separate graphic files in a common format (pdf, eps, jpg) in addition to their placement in the manuscript. The rights for the possible use of third-party graphics must be clarified.
